Black Friday Magic

I love black Friday! It is so awesome. I stay up on Thanksgiving night with Randy and write down our "wish list" for each store. Then, while I sleep, the magic happens. I awake the next morning and find out how many items I got from my list. I get to look at the Christmas presents for the kids and new items for my home. It is so exciting I can hardly stand it. See, I told you....Magic.

Now, Randy, as I understand has a different knowledge of Black Friday. His is more of a nightmare then anything else. His Black Friday is full of tired, pushy makeup free women, crazy people and "white trash" grabbing and hoarding. running through a swarm of sale driven people in a maze of "hidden" treasures. He finally escapes, only to go into another maze with different insane people to grab what he can on the list before it disappears and then try to get the heck out. More of a nightmare, ...but at least he comes home to a happy wife.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am so thankful for my family, friends a nice home and especially for Randy and all that he does for me. Happy Thanksgiving!

P.s. Lily is sporting two new bottom teeth today. The first one came in on Sunday. I would post a picture, but she won't even open just a little for me. It figures. If you click on the picture of her smiling you can see the first tooth though.

Dream Disruptions

It has been a while since I have posted about our sleep walking/talking fiascoes. They have occurred, but none were profoundly funny enough to post as of late.... that is, until now. The other night, I was doing what I usually do around 2:30 am. I was sleeping. Suddenly Randy jumps out of bed onto his feet and grumbles something that sounds like "eahhhhhhh" in an exclamation of disgust. He steps over to the wall and turns on the light in our room. I exclaim with my eyes tightly shut to avoid the light "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!?" and Randy said "Well, look at Jake's FACE! it has CRAP all over it!" I kinda laugh a little, tell him to turn off the light and he says: "Oh, sorry, I guess I'm not thinking straight." Yep, he has that right. He gets back into bed and right back off to dreamland he goes. That crazy man sure does keep me on my toes. By the way, lights are especially bright when you have been sleeping in the dark for a few hours.

Storefront Windows

I finished the windows today for "Triple T" and I think it looks OK. I was really bored with the words and couldn't wait to finish them so I could do the fun Christmas stuff. When I was doing the snowman I was actually smiling and humming Christmas songs. I worked for about nine hours so it wasn't too bad. It was hard for me to do everything so large. I'm not used to that. I mean look how small his door looks compared to the windows. It was fun, but I am glad it is over.

I also got another job offer from a woman who would like me to paint her home windows. I'm considering it. I drove by her house and it is only 4 small windows so it should only take me just over an hour or so. We'll see. Alright, tell me what you think people. I can take it.

Heather the seamstress?

No, I am not really a seamstress, but I DID get a lot of my sewing projects done last night while Randy was gone. I made the "I spy" bags for the boys. This is Tyler's.
I put the list of things to find on the back of the bag.

Of course this is the fabric Jacob picked out. Orange is really all he talks about
I also made this baby blanket for my friend/neighbor/hairdresser who just had a baby boy last week.
I won't show you the boring projects like mending Randy's church pants and other chores, I'm just glad I got these things done. The laundry however is still piling up.

It's official

I had a meeting with the "Triple T" businessman and he accepted my bid to paint his windows. I am hoping that I won't regret this decision. I am nervous and excited and I hope that it doesn't take too much time away from my babies. He did hint to me that if this job goes well for both of us, he would like to continue to have me paint for his business in the future.
Cross your fingers for me.

A Quick 8 Months

Lily pulls herself up to a standing position on almost anything now. She does like to do it on our carbon monoxide detector. She is 8 months old. I'm pretty sure she will be walking soon too. Jacob walked at 8 1/2 months and Lily seems to be on that same track. I can only pray that this non-walking stage will last as long as possible. If I trip her, it is for her own good right?

She is super ticklish under her chin and around her neck. It is so fun to tickle her because of her deep (not so girly) laugh.

Projects Progress

We had our ward super Saturday almost a week ago and I got a ton of projects completed. I can't show all of them because some of you lucky people are receiving them for Christmas presents. I wanted to show some of them though. I made FHE in a jar. It has a years worth of FHE plans. (If anybody wants it, let me know, Randy doesn't really like these kind of things)I made a new watch band for my watch
I made Lily a temple block for her room
Jacobs was Orange...of course.
Tyler's block. Now they all have their own temple pictures
Of course I can't leave out my Achievement Day project I did with the girls this week. I thought they turned out pretty cute. I bought these frames at the dollar store and printed out "My gospel Standards" they cut them out and glued them to ribbon and then put their name on the frame with the stickers. This is the one I made for Miranda who couldn't come. The girls can hang them in their bedrooms.this is the (never-ending) project I am hoping to get done today
This boy is sick And it makes this boy happy to have someone to play with during school hours
I'll keep you updated on projects to come. I have plenty of them.
Oh, and can't have a post without this face included.

Opportunity is Knocking,.. but I'm scared to answer the Door.

A man here in Tooele recently opened a business and he has asked me if I would paint his windows for his Grand opening sale. I am interested, but I am also very scared to do it. I have never done anything like this before, I have no idea how much to charge him and how much the supplies would cost. He has a lot of window space to fill. I am supposed to call him with a bid so we can get started asap. Any advice?

It's just a phase

Everything is just a phase. Good or bad, it won't last long. We should be grateful for the good times and thankful for the knowledge that the bad phases will soon pass.

Jacob refused to say a prayer for a couple of months. No prayers at dinner, no bedtime prayers...nothing. We have been consistent in asking, helping and encouraging him to do so. We even praise Tyler endlessly for his "really good prayers" Finally. the past few days have been full of prayers by our little Jacob. I sure hope this phase lasts longer than the anti-pray phase.

Lily, our sweet girl has begun a new phase of spitting while eating baby food (really irritating) and biting me while nursing. no, she isn't teething either, at least not that I can tell. When the boys bit me while nursing I would follow my mother-in-laws advice and flick their little cheeks and tell them no. This always comes with tears from both of us, but I only had to do it twice with Tyler and Jacob before they got the hint and stopped biting me. Lily on the other hand has proven much more difficult to break of this new habit. I flick her little cheek and she screams and bawls for an extremely long time. She is so dramatic about it you would think I had just cut her arm off or something. I don't do it hard, just hard enough to get her attention and shock her to keep from biting. She is showing me how girls are I suppose. Their feelings count for more than the pain inflicted. Unfortunately for me though my efforts have been fruitless thus far. I am willing to take suggestions on this nasty phase.
Here are some random pictures and videos of the phases right now.
Lily with her cute curly hair. (I guess the curls are growing on me.)

I caught Jacob in the closet. He said he was "working on his painting" I informed him that we don't "paint" on walls, doors, floors, etc. just paper he has permission to draw on.
another curly hair picture

She was saying Mama before I got out the camera (of course) and I don't know if you can see the next video because it is so dark, but It is of Tyler tickling Lily with his head on her belly. I love her deep (not so girly) laugh.

I look so HOT I just HAD to post this picture of me that Tyler took. at least I voted right? LOL

"You Aren't Crazy!"

I bought some caramel to have caramel apples for Halloween a couple of weeks ago. I have been trying since then to get the boys to try it. They have refused until today. Tyler decided to be brave and try it. after he ate some he smiled and said "Mom! You aren't crazy!"....Has my sanity been in question this whole time? These boys I tell ya, what am I to do with them?

Happy birthday to Me!

My friend Michelle is doing this, and I am getting on board as well. For my birthday present to myself this year, I am going to lose weight I am going to feel good about myself and have more energy. I am going to take care of myself TODAY not tomorrow. On April 21st about six months from now, I would like to reach my goal weight. Seeing as I am surrounded by tiny people, I will not shock you with numbers. Just know that I would like support and praise for my efforts. I will post my pounds lost on the right side of my blog as a constant reminder and motivation to continue on when I need to, not to embarrass myself, but to motivate me. I have never been successful at losing weight while nursing, but rather right after I stop. Lily isn't nursing quite as much anymore so I am hoping that with a little more effort, I will be able to do this while nursing my sweet little one. (I will stop nursing when she is 1 year old in March) Happy birthday to ME! Wish me luck.

Is Halloween Over?

That is what Tyler asked me on Saturday night. he was very upset that we were not going trick or treating one more time. Oh well, I think four is enough don't you? Here are some pictures of the actual Halloween day. We went trick or treating on Main street with friends and then trick or treating around the neighborhood that night.
