I put up a poll of our favorite baby names and would like to see what you guys think. We are trying to stick with the "flower" theme everyone seems to suggest. "Heather" is a shrub with flowers, and lily is of course a flower as well. I'm not too keen on most flower names, but these we like. I know that off hand you wouldn't think flower, but they are.
Kate- "kiss me Kate" flower
Alyssa- Short for Alyssum,
OK, so Rain isn't a flower name, but there is something we like about it. It is a little out of character for us (as far as being so different from names we have already used) and we have had quite the response when we mention that name to people. No, we don't think we are celebrities. We just kind of like it.
I won't tell you which one we are leaning towards the most, but let's just say that Randy and I have a different #1 choice.
We have had a lot of fun throwing out ridiculous names such as Chrysanthemum, rhododendron, pansy, hyacinth, ect.
Thanks in advance for voting!
Oh- baby update, I saw my midwife and she told me that because my baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead, she won't let me go past February 8th (a week before my due date) due to her size. We don't want to deal with the issues a 10 or 11 lb baby can cause. At that point I will be measuring at 41 weeks, so I suppose it makes sense, but I'm not on board with an induction as of yet. I will have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to see just how big my little fatty is getting .:) I just hope she decides to come before then on her own. I'll keep you posted.

Were you named after a Heather shrub or did your parents just like the name Heather?
I never would have put that together that you had a flower theme going on.
I like Kate.
Michelle, I don't know, I'll have to ask my parents. I didn't know we had a flower theme going till other people brought it up with this pregnancy.
I was thinking that Sunshine would be better then Rain since rain makes you think of darkness and gloom and sunshine makes you think of beauty and happiness!
Leilani - means Heavenly Flower and it was 261 out of 500 on popularity so really down there.
Found that on Flower names for girls on the web. It is pronounced
Laylani she could be called Lea for short if you wanted to shorten up her name. Just a thought!
Give said the little Rain, give oh give give oh give give said the little rain as it fell among the flowers, I'll raise their droopy heads again as I fell upon the flowers.
The more I think about it the more I think Rain is cute!
Also Micah said that Hana with the long A means flower in Japanese!
I Really love Rain. Its so different but at the same time its really beautiful because Rain creates New Beginnings in the world. I don't think of Gloom when it comes to rain but maybe that's because it doesn't rain all that often here and when it does the next few days and weejs there are so many beautiful plants in bloom.
You wouldn't believe what people have said when we tell them our girls names are Zoey and Roxie. Either they love them or hate them but the best part is Roxie will not have 8 Roxie's in her class. Yes Zoey is popular but so far I haven't met another Zoey yet.
I really like Juliet, but I have to say that the more that I am thinking of it, the more I like Rain...I REALLY, REALLY like it! :) Don't worry what people say...after we named Finnegan, Grandma Claire called us for two weeks asking what his 'REAL" name was...totally didn't believe that we would name him that! :)
I like all the name choices! I know, I am a big help:) I also love the name Paisley. We know 2 Paisley's and it is such a sweet name. Good luck! This is always the hardest part for me.
I think Juliet would be a perfect. I can see that name fitting in perfect with all of you.
I knew someone named Raina and I liked that! All of them are really cute! I can see you guys with a Juliet!
Cordie says Juliet or Alyssa but definitely not rain. I like Kate alot but there are alot of them so I would go for Rain this is Kristi though not Amanda
I really like Chrysanthemum. Have you read the book? It's adorable and will make you love them name. (Read it aloud, with feeling). And apparently I'm still logged into Kristi's computer. Oops!
The more I think about Rain, the more I like it, but I would spell it...Raine.
Juliet has been and always will be a beautiful name. The others are adorable as well though. I once heard the name Zinnia and thought it was really cute. I also like Violet, though it's more associated as a color than a flower (Viola is the actual flower name). Good luck, names are hard for me.
