Halloween

The night before Halloween, Tyler decided he really wanted to be rubix cube. Of course I didn't want to disappoint him, so I got a box and made him one.
Here is my Jake in the box. Pun intended.
Here the kids are on Halloween ready for school.
That evening, Randy and I went to a party at our neighbors house. I didn't have a costume, so I put this together. I was a beat up baseball player

Randy was a horse, like always and we brought our little witch Alyssa with us.
I didn't take any other photos of Halloween, but we had a good time and the kids got lots of candy, that's the point right?

Children's book illustrations

I've been asked to work on  the illustrations for a children's book that my neighbor wrote. She is hoping to get it published. Until that time, she wanted me to illustrate it for her so she would have something to show the kids at school when she reads it to them at schools around Halloween time.

Here is a rough look at what I've done so far. The book is called "The girl and the Witch." It is a fantastic poem.

Halloween festivities

The kids and I decided to paint the front windows for FHE while randy was at school one night.
It was really difficult for me to let the kids just paint whatever they wanted to without any planning or theme, but they all seemed to have a great time. Even the kids next door joined in the fun.

I also got some new Halloween decorations that I was pretty excited about.

Lily wanted to participate in the high school dance fundraiser. They taught her a dance and she was able to dance during the halftime show of the High school football game.

Here she is getting ready before the show. All the kids dressed up in Halloween costumes for the dance.

The cute girl in the army outfit is in our ward. Lily wants to be a dancer just like her.

Here she is dancing at her best!

Tyler says....

Its been years since I've posted a "Tyler says..." but this made me laugh. 10 years old and still cracking me up!

Tyler:" isn't it weird how things can be gross but strangely addicting?!"
Me:"like smoking?"
Tyler:" like the school's sloppy Joes."
