Just so you know

So I had to delete my beloved likeness to Beyonce! Since I put it on my blog I have not been able to access my blog for some reason. I thought It was awesome though. Had I been able to access the blog, I would have written something to go with it. Yes, the site picks the celebrity that supposedly looks like you. If you want to check it out, go to http://www.myheritage.com/. Just so you know, I also look like kimberly williams paisly and some other black girl and an asian girl. I didn't know I was so multiracial! Now when you think you see Beyonce, remember that it might be me walking down the street looking "bootylicious." I get that all the time! He he he

What to do when you're cold and don't have a blanket

Cozy isn't it.

Tyler Says

Everyone tells me that Tyler Says is their favorite post and ask me to do it more often. I only get so much material though. I take it as it comes; but I promise to post whenever I get something remotely good. Anyway, here are some of may favorite Tyler quotes from the last couple of weeks. Each one comes with a story, but I think most of them speak for themselves!

"Those are not potty words! Those are basketball words!"

"I am the best 'pacifinder' in the whole world" (favorite new hobby: finding pacifiers for me)

"Balls are way to wiggly to stand on! It hurts to try lots of times!"

"My feelings are hurt, so I think I should be able to play computer all day."

"Nuffing is ever my fault mom! Fings just always happen by themselves."

"I think I know what Jesus would want me to do. I think he would want me to be healthy and be nice to my mom and brother. But I don't want to do that today, maybe I will try to be like Jesus tomorrow insead."

I think I spend a lot of my days giggling to myself and jotting things down. It is nice to have some built in comic relief in our home.

Tyler Says

Yesterday we invited a friend over to play with Tyler. Before she came, I said "Ty, you need to brush your teeth before Whitney comes over." He said "Um, no that's okay, I will just keep my mouf closed the whole time."

Some sound Ty advice: If you haven't brushed your teeth (or you don't want to) just keep your mouth closed so nobody will know! Now that's smart thinking. (by the way, he did brush before she came. I'm not a pushover.)

Help! My sons are POTHEADS!

Okay, I know I have been in denial about this for quite sometime. I just thought; "well, as long as it doesn’t affect their behavior everything will be all right" right? Unfortunately, I was wrong. Terribly wrong! I really think they have a problem. It seems like every time I turn around, one of them, or both, has a pot on his head! I'ts hard for me to admit this, but they readily share this not so secret addiction. They, or at least Ty calls himself a "pothead" and he does it with absolutely no remorse! You never think it will happen to your own family. It seems to have escalated lately as well. Jakey definately has the worse problem; he is just the right height for those cupboards to taunt him all day long! I can't believe I let them do it to start with! I can’t say they have to stop now. Or can I? I wish I could just say “boys will be boys” and laugh it off. But I just can't! It has created one major problem in my life. That’s right! I have to say it….. I have to wash a pot every time I need to use one because they are always dirty! AAAAHHHH! They have even moved on to buckets, bowls, funnels and pitchers! What’s next? I hope they never get so bad off they try things like muffin tins! Those are so hard to clean! My hands are so dry from washing pots, and don’t get me started on the soap bill! It feels really good to finally get this information out. A huge burden has been lifted from off of my chest. Has anyone else ever had their sons addicted to putting things on their heads? They laugh and laugh; they are so high on living in the moment. Is there a support group for this kind of thing?
Sorry about the graphic pictures! I just had to tell someone!

It's a mad mad mad mad world!

Happy Valentines day! This morning we awoke to a shocking amount of snow. we recieved close to 2 feet of the white stuff between yesterday afternoon and this morning. I's crazy because yesterday I was looking at our yard and was surprised how green our grass was becoming. That's right, we didn't have any snow in our yard yesterday. The funny thing is that Randy got up this morning to go to work; he said he was going to shovel and then leave so he kissed me goodby. Being me, I quickly returned back to bed hoping to catch some more zzz's. Around 8:00 Ty came in the bedroom and awakened me. I said that it had snowed a whole lot so he should look out the window. He looked out and said very excidedly "oh! there's tons of snow! and there's daddy shoveling!" I then jumped out of bed shocked! To my amazement, there Randy was, two hours later, still shoveling snow from the driveway. School was canceled (not that it matters for our family) and I know a lot of people who missed work because of it. Of course Randy braved the roads to go to work! Quite the interesting Valentines day if you ask me! Here are some pictures for those Curious Georges out there.

Resposibility?... What's that?

I know that as a stay at home mom I have responsibilities; I just choose not to aknowledge them sometimes. The MXPX song keeps running through my head:
"Responsibility? whats that? Responsibility? not quite yet! Responsibility? whats that? I dont want to think about it; wed be better off without it. I don't want to think about it!"
If you visit my house often, you will immediately know when I am into a really good book. The reason is that my normally (mostly) clean house is an absolute mess, I am not wearing makeup, the kids are still in their pajamas and I am surprised at what time it is. As you probably guessed, this is the case right now. I probably should be ashamed to admit this, but I'm not. I am reading "seize the night" by Dean Koontz. It's a: can't put this down yet, get yourself some food good book! As per his usual books, he has yet again captured my undivided attention for the past couple of days. Good for him, unfortunate for my neglected house and family. I think that Tyler has watched way too much TV and Jake has definately eaten his fill of crumbs off the floor. Poor Randy has to come home to a messy house, messy wife and very energetic children ready to wrestle after a long boring day. Do you think I have a nice meal ready on the table for him as well? Yep, I think not. Well, the good news is I am almost done with my book (even though I have peeled my eyes away long enough to check my e-mail and update my blog), and don't you think valentines day will be extra special this year when mommy is ready to play, the house is clean and meals will be made? I like to think so. No wonder Randy gets that look on his face when I come home from the library with a new book! Can't say as I blame him. Well, wish me luck in my catching up this week!

Tyler Says

Today Randy's sister is visiting from Ohio with her family while her husband interviews for a job at BYU. So of course I want both my children to look extra cute since we don't see Kristi often. I put out the clothes I wanted Ty to wear and they were quickly vetoed. He really wanted to wear his jeans with the giant hole in one knee. I said to him "boy Ty, I think you are getting really big" and of course he stood a little taller. Proud of his growing body. I then asked him to see if he was big enough to wear a certain pair of tan pants that have yet to fit him. He sighed loudly and said he was bigger, but the pants probwee (probably) don't fit; but still agreed. He put on the tan pants, but much to my dismay they were too large for his skinny little boy body. I thought maybe if I pulled them up higher they would be the right length and he could wear a belt. So I pulled them up pretty high and I stood back to survey the pants situation. As I stood back looking at him, he looks down at himself and looks back up at me and says "Great! I look like humpty-dumpty!"

Needless to say I had to give in and he wore the pants with the giant hole! After all, nobody wants to look like humpty-dumpty!

Tyler Says

Tyler runs into my room early this morning and jumps onto my bed. He looks at me very seriously and says "mom, wook in my mouf" (look in my mouth) and opens so wide a dentist would be proud. Since I have absolutely no idea what I am looking for I say "wow, it...uh looks good Ty." He then goes on to tell me he had a dream about a very very sharp turkey that was in his mouth. (That's right, a "sharp turkey") I say "that is an interesting dream Ty." and he says "No mom! There has to be sumping (something) wrong in there because it was Weewee (really) sharp! Wike (like) I knife mom!" I tell him that it looks fine. Finally he says with a sigh: "Well, I fink (think) I need some hot chocolate for breakfast because of the sharp turkey that was in my mouf that isn't there anymore" I don't normally let him have chocolate for breakfast (hot or otherwise), so do you think that he started out wanting the chocolate and made some crazy dream up so he could get it? Or was the dream so alarming to him that he needed some chocolate to soothe him?

Yeah I know!

So, this is obviously what happens when you are bored and your husband happens to be from "spamtown USA." For those of you who don't already know, yep! I do like spam. Like being the opperative word in that sentence. Tyler and Jacob are big fans as well. If you don't know all of our ties to spam, then just give me a call and I will tell you a long funny story about spamburgers at our wedding dinner. That is a very popular story. I actually was talking to a women I had never met and we were talking about weddings and somehow the "spam dinner" came up and her eyes got really big and she said "that was you?!?" Aparantly she had already heard all about my wedding dinner from somebody else. who knew I was famous?! I wasn't always so apt to talk about spam or even like it, but I have come a long way since then. Have a nice day!
p.s. for those of you who know the song that Grandpa Aird used to sing, that is how the title for the blog should be read!;)
