Guess What...

We're Having a baby! That's right, baby number FIVE will arrive in late October. I still cant wrap my brain around havin five children, but lucky for me I have some time to get used to it. Unfortunately I've been quite sick this pregnancy so far. I've had to tell people a lot sooner than I had hoped just because I cant hide my being so sick.
Randy is fiddling with the idea of not finding out the gender of the baby this time around. I'm not sure that I'm completely on board with that idea yet. We'll see.

Here is a link to the video of us telling the kids about the baby. shock and surprise pretty much sums it up though. Of course we have two girls who want the baby to be a girl, and two boys who want it to be a boy. I have to say, I'm with the boys on this one. I've had enough of the drama with little girls. ha ha.

Birthday cake for Savannah

For my niece Savannah's 14th birthday, she asked me to come teach/ help her make her birthday cake. She found a couple of ideas on pinterest and we got to work. I think she soon realized that actually producing what you want in a cake from the ideas in your head can be a bit tricky. Especially without any formal training. We had some issues, but all in all, I think it turned out pretty cute. What do you think? The most important part was that it tasted good. She tried to do a tie dye cake inside, but it didn't quite turn out that way. We'll try again next year to get it right! Happy birthday Savannah banana!

Happy Birthday Lily Bean!

This little lady is SIX YEARS OLD! Unfortunately it is like 6 going on 18 for this child. She wants to be grown up, she wants to act grown up. If something involves clothes, hair, makeup, boys, or anything teenager-ish then she is ALL in.  She is the craziest, loveliest, most stubborn little diva I know! She never fails to make me laugh. Her attitude is somewhat bipolar. She is either the happiest most obedient, wonderful child, or the most stubborn, loud, little stick in the mud who won't do anything we need her to. She is a joy to have albiet a handful at times and we wouldn't want it any other way. Happy birthday sweet baby girl!

To celebrate, we had cake and saw the new Cinderella movie at the movie theater with the family. She loved every minute of us celebrating her life. She is always dying to be the center of attention. She got many gifts from all of us and wants to be a princess.

Heather's How To

Easy Play Makeup for Kids
Step 1: find old or empty makeup container

Step 2: make a cute name card and affix to the front of the makeup container
Step 3: fill (cleaned out) container with nail polish and allow to fully dry (a day or two). I chose a sparkly purple shade.
Step 4: give to extremely excited 5 year old who is DYING to wear makeup but is too young and you don't want her putting on cheap greasy yucky makeup on. She will love this and can pretend to put in on all she wants.

Jacob's Baptism

Today Jacob was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a wonderful day. He was the only one in our ward being baptized that day, but we were lucky enough to have my nephew Boston be baptized with Jacob. How cool is it to have a shared baptism with your cousin! I'm sure my parents were happy to kill two birds with one stone as well.

Before the baptism, we took some pictures. Jacob chose to have Randy be the one to baptize and confirm him.

As you can see by my face, I'm proud, happy and sad my baby is growing up, all at the same time.

Mostly I'm happy that he made this big decision and did the right thing.

In his interview with the bishop, he was asked why he wanted to be baptized, he said "I want to be baptized because I want to have the holy ghost to help me make good decisions."
The family waiting for the stake baptism program to start. there were three other wards there with only a handful of kids being baptized that day.

Jacob and Boston (my sister Amberly's son) together after their confirmations.

Everything went off without a hitch. I'm thankful to Randy for being worthy to baptize him and thankful to Jacob for making good decisions

After the baptism, we had all our family and friends over for a taco bar (Jacob's favorite) and cupcakes.
We had all the support we could ever need. I'm so grateful to everyone who helps make this happen month after month. We have wonderful leaders and members who serve diligently. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Jacob's Birthday

Jacob is eight years old today! He had a great day. He says the best thing is his new nerf crossbow. My favorite thing was seeing him happy the entire day. It's great to be eight!  I'm grateful to have him in our family. Happy birthday Jakey!
