Gamer on our hands..Tyler says..

I played volleyball at the church today like I do on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On the drive home,
Tyler asks: "did you win mom?"
Me: "Um.. we play lots of games"
Tyler:"well, did you win them?"
Me:"I won 3 games and lost 1"
Tyler:"so, when you got to level 3 you lost."

everything is in "levels" now. I think that means we need to limit his "game time" even more.

What I learned today...

When making brownies, no matter how many times you check on them, they ALWAYS cook faster when the oven is on.

What Tyler learned today: No matter how hard you try to take off your church shirt, you HAVE to unbutton it to get it off. (wish I got that on video)

What Jake learned today: cuts hurt a lot worse (no matter how much or how long they were bleeding) after you find out they exist.

What Randy learned? he lives with a bunch of crazies!

Random pics of the day:

our cute "Lily billy" in her church dress

After 26 years of waiting, my perm finally grew out! ;)
I love how Lily looks annoyed I am taking another picture.

"They say it's Your Birthday!"

Happy birthday to ME yesterday! I had a great birthday. I didn't do much, but it was still a fun day. I hung out with the kids and then Randy got a babysitter and took me (and Lily) to dinner. After i got home, I decorated my cake. I must have been in an interesting mood when I did it because it turned out a little crazy looking. Still fun though. My cute kids that morning
this is how I feel about turning 26

Pictures Pictures Pictures!

I put way too many pictures on this slide, but we had so much fun and there were so many great pictures of my kids and the family that I had to put a lot on there. (yes, there are a lot more out there).
The photos of us in church clothes are on Easter Sunday as well as the Easter egg hunt. others are of us hanging out with the family. Then we went to Yosemite. we HAVE to do it again sometime.

Thanks Steve and Micah for the photos. Most of the good ones are yours.

Dream Disruptions

Even with the new member of our family and all the traveling, Randy still feels the need to entertain me in the middle of the night. How thoughtful!

Last night I had just finished nursing Lily and when she was done, I rolled over to lay on my back towards the middle of the bed. All of a sudden Randy springs up and starts feeling around the bed saying "She moved, I felt her move! Where did she go?" I assumed he meant Lily, so I told him she was safe and was on the other side of me. He said "Oh, good." He paused, then rather abruptly he starts feeling all over the bed again with his hands and says impatiently, "Well, have you seen my Carrot?"
Of course I burst out laughing as he lay back down and went to sleep. He is awesome.

California Trip top 15

We did so many things and had so much fun with the Bremner family this past week that I couldn't possibly tell all the stories. Instead, I came up with my top 10 favorite memories and then it became 15. I also came up with my favorite quotes of the trip. I loved hanging out with Rick, Eileen, Lisa, Kristi, Steve, Micah, Heidi, Roxie, Paige and Amanda plus all the extended relatives even though it was because of Grandpa passing away that we could all get together.

Top 15 Memories

15- Our awesome hotel room in Reno with a flat screen TV in the bathroom

14-Hearing memories about Grandpa Connett

13-Watching the boys have an Easter egg hunt in the garden

12-playing games with everyone and yelling over each other to talk

11-the aunts giving one of my boys 2 balls and the other 1. I think they did it to mess with me because they fought over the extra one a lot!

10-Going through the mountains and white knuckling it through a snow storm. I'm glad we didn't die.

9-Lisa buying about 30 lbs of Jelly belly flops

8-Being able to see Rick and Eileen and showing Lily to them

7-Jacob looking for "monkeys" in Yosemite

6-Lisa reading her "dirty novel" out loud to her missionary parents. awesome.

5-Lisa's attitude/comments/laughter after she took some sleeping pills.

4-Having all the kids asleep in the car AT THE SAME TIME! wonderful.

3- white knuckling it in the snowstorm in the mountains and Tyler saying he has to go to the bathroom. Then, holding Randy's soda cup while Tyler peed into it. (I was glad it had ice in it so it wasn't hot in my hand. that would have totally freaked me out.) Randy was so proud of course.

2 -Having so many people to play/help with the kids. I love having so many nannies and baby holders handy. even if they did fight over Lily.

and my number 1 favorite memory- Steve spanking Kristi with the Hymn book. (don't ask)

Favorite Quotes
"When the Door Knocks!" sung to the tune of "these are a few of my favorite things" by Amanda
"This pregnancy is Heather's fault" -by Micah
"Show me your balls!" -by Me (TWSS)*
Tyler after seeing a cute picture of him and Kendall "I want that picture for my blog"
"You guys are card retards!" -by Randy
(Lisa, you said WAY too many funny things for me to remember a specific quote.)

Thanks everyone for the fun times and good memories. I hope we can get together again soon under different circumstances. I Love you all. (I will put up photos when I get the chance.)

*That's what she said

Tyler Says...

We were at breakfast this morning and Tyler says (while looking at Lily) "Mom, is that what I was like when I was a baby? Did I just look so creepy all the time?"

5 year-olds what are you gonna do?

From Randy: I Loved Him

90 years young with Tyler and 4 other GreatGrandKids.

My grandpa died last night. He was such a great guy. I loved him so much. He made me feel so loved when he was around. When he came to visit we knew we would have fun. He had a nickname for me. Called me panda bear. I don't know why he did, but it made me feel special. I used to love coming home from school when he would visit. He'd be a sleep in his chair and I go into the living room and sit on the couch waiting for him to wake up. I'm sure I woke him up a few times. He played basketball with me, he baptized me, and he even cleaned up after my friends T.P.'d the house. (He rerolled them and we used it.) He was there when the dogs knocked me off the picnic table to hold me. I loved him. He couldn't have been a better Grandfather. I will miss him but am glad he's been called home.

My parents have a nice slide show of him on their blog.

From Randy: New Stairwell Light

One of the problems in the Basement Stairwell was the light. There was one light at the bottom of the stairs that didn't provide any light into the stairwell. I thought about several options before I came up with this. It didn't turn out exactly as I envisioned it, but I think I like it. What do you think?

These are a few of my favorite things...

Some of my new favorites!

Lilypadz

These nursing pads are the GREATEST! seriously. They are a thin plastic and they are kind of tacky on one side. you put them on and they stick right to the breast. They apply pressure so you won't leak and they don't move or leave a big circle under your clothes for everyone to see. I especially like it because it works with garments (if you know what I mean). You can wear it swimming too. I got mine for about $20 online and it is totally worth every penny. If you are nursing (and still need pads) or you are going to nurse, it is a must have. you can go to lilypadz for more info. but I got them at mom4life for cheaper.

The Diaper Depot
I got this from Target.com and it was only $15 but I love how it organizes my changing table. It is just cheap plastic but I love it.

Milk Bands

I used this with Jake too, but I still think they are cool. They are only about $5 and they keep track of your nursing (what side, how long and what time you nursed) Very cool. You can keep them on in the shower and sleep in them b/c they are very comfortable.

Anyway, those are a few of my new favorite MOM things. Not too expensive but very cool if you ask me. Let me know if I am missing out on any cool products I should know about.
