7 months

My baby is seven months old!!! I can't believe it...again. She is the cutest sweetest little thing. She is full of smiles and giggles. She is grabbing and getting into everything now. She chokes on something new every day. no matter how much I vacuum or pick up, with three other kids running around there is always something within reach for her to put into her mouth. She looks cute with her two bottom teeth now.

She loves to be upside down! She laughs and laughs when you hold her upside down. she can sit up on her own now as well. She still sleeps through the night (and has been for a while). I stand by my comment that she is the best baby ever!
Love you girly!

Tiny Teeth

My baby girl got two new teeth about four days ago. You would think that by the fourth child I could figure out why she was being so cranky! Randy finally told me to check her mouth. It isn't like her at all to be sad. It has been hard to watch her struggle.
Don't you love these cute sad faces?
Luckily they have both broken through and she is feeling much better.

The devil wears a Tutu

Don't let this cute face fool you.
She is three years old.
 Sometimes she is wonderful

 sometimes she throws fits.
Sometimes she will dance with her new class
And she does make a beautiful ballerina,
but today she was not having any of this "dancing stuff." She screamed and wouldn't participate. then proceeded to scream (after watching the entire class) all the way home. She ended up spending a lot of time alone in her room until she changed her attitude. You can't be a ballerina without being a little bit of a diva can you? Ah well, there's always next week.

Holy War

We had a great time on Saturday getting ready for the BYU vs. U of U football game. We were all decked out in our BYU best. Lily and Alyssa were sporting their new BYU dresses too!
Lily was in no mood to show me her dress while I took a picture.

Alyssa was a good sport and showed off her outfit though. Sorry it's blurry. that's what happens when a five year old brother is holding the baby.

We went to my parents house to watch the game and my sister Michelle and her family were there as well. They are U of U fans (boo!) but we still love them anyway.
I brought my face paints for some added game day fun. Michelle's boy Isaac wanted a Y like Jacob. I did it gladly. hahaha. We converted one of their kids at least! He was cute he kept saying I'm a "B.Y. Ute." what a cutie.

Tyler kept calling me a traitor because I was willing to paint U's on his cousin's faces. Oh well. I think they turned out pretty awesome. This is Will sporting his U.

His "serious face" cracks me up! That boy is ALWAYS smiling.
Savannah wanted a little more detail than the other kids. After much debate we decided on a football with a U in the center. I told her I might 'accidentally' paint a Y instead. She was a good sport.
It's the wrong team, but I still love it!

These two girls LOVE hanging out together.
Lily got a quick blue butterfly painted on her cheek
Lily kissing Sarah. I'm not sure why...
We had a great time! It was an unbelievable game though! Too bad we lost it in the end. Thanks Mom and Dad for a great dinner and putting up with all the craziness that we bring to your home!
I think we should see this picture one last time!
 I sure love these two!

P.S. I should mention that Tyler does not like having his face painted. He tried it for like two seconds and freaked out saying it was itchy. It's too bad because he wanted me to paint a cougar face! Someday maybe.

Kids Say the Darndest Things

I love when the kids misunderstand  the way something is supposed to be said. But being a movie lover myself, I think it is absolutely hilarious when they mispronounce movie titles my favorites are as follows.

Actual Movie: Indiana Jones
Tyler: "I want to watch Indian and the Jones"

Movie: Astro Boy
Jacob: "We're watching Ass...the boy!"

Movie: Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Jacob: "Oh, I missed Diarrhea wimpy kid!"

I adore that these little guys keep me on my toes. They are too funny.

Little Ballerina

Lily started taking ballet classes last week.
3 months of classes:$66
Leotard: $6
Tights: $4
Shoes:$7
Tutu (from the DI): $1
Watching her dance with her cute little class: Priceless

Lily says...

Lily: "Mom, do you know about bum sneezes?"
Me :"what? no."
Lily: " It's when you sneeze out your bum!"
Me: "Allright..."
Lily "BUT, you have to be all the way inside your bum." she pauses for dramatic effect. "It's REALLY funny mom!"

Labor Day Feelings

Randy and I had an interesting experience this weekend. He and I have been planning a trip down to Cedar City to camp with our friends over labor day weekend for well over a month. We were so excited to see our friends who have moved down there as well as hike and play around the Cedar mountains. We had it all planned out and we were ready to leave Friday morning. On Thursday night, however, I wasn't excited at all for the trip. This was surprising because I really wanted to go spend time with our friends. I kind of felt a sense of dread at the prospect of  going.
I kind of brushed it off and continued to pack up and make sure we had all our meals ready to go for the next day. We had everything out and ready to pack the car for the following morning. Because I was feeling some trepidation about the trip, I said a prayer on Thursday night asking Heavenly Father for further guidance about what to do. I had not discussed my hesitation with Randy at the time.
Friday morning arrived and with it even more bad feelings. I felt completely awful! I lost my appetite and had a horrible feeling that something terrible was going to happen. While Randy was eating breakfast and I was feeding the baby, I asked Randy "How do you feel about the trip?" thinking that he would tell me how excited he was. But to my surprise he said "It just doesn't feel right." I told him that I had been feeling the same way. We discussed it and I told him I felt like if we went we would really regret going. So we said another prayer or two and decided we had better not go on the trip after all.
I called my good friend Melissa and told her how sorry I was but that we had a really bad feeling about coming down. She was so sweet and supportive and told me "Listen to the spirit and follow it. I would feel horrible if you guys came down and got in a car accident or something." Her complete understanding was wonderful to me.
We bagged the trip and instead headed to family movie night at the drive-in. We had fun with the kids watching 3 movies (till 2 in the morning) and loved being with our little family. The next day we hiked on White Rocks near Dugway. I think we were trying to compensate for cancelling camping on the kids. We have still had a good weekend so far, but I do wonder what would have happened had we gone camping. I am sure I will never know, but that doesn't matter. I am so grateful for the holy ghost. I am so grateful that my husband is in tune with the spirit and is such a great sounding board for me. I am thankful for God's warning to me this weekend. He answers prayers though sometimes not the way we want him to. I know he will always be there for me. All I have to do is be ready and listen.

Here are some pictures from our unexpected stay home weekend.

A view from the car of the white rocks
We had so much fun climbing. I'm sure we will visit again. Can you spy Tyler?

Randy Tyler and Jake climbing around
Jake and Randy made it all the way to the top.
Randy took some pictures of Jake from the top
That's our van way down there!
This is my favorite. I'm glad I wasn't up there with them. Randy said he had a few heart attacks because of Jake running round. I don't think I could have handled it. I love his outfit.. It is soooo JAKE.

On the way home we spotted a herd of antelope.
