you can see how high the wave hit him.
The boys sure love uncle Ben

The boys and I made sand animals. That's my super awesome sand turtle before he was destroyed by Alonzo.

When we first sat down at the beach, lily grabbed a handful of sand and threw it in my face and said "Got you Mom!." She thought it was so funny. Apparently, she also enjoyed dumping sand on top of her own head.
Tyler playing in the ocean.
Jacob loved the beach but not the water so much.
Tyler digging a hole to bury his brother.
My failed attempt at a cool picture. Tyler picking up his brother's head.
He got up before I could try another shot.
While the kids and I were playing on the beach, Randy was boogie boarding by himself. I would find him every now and again and I would wave to him. He decided to catch some waves further along the shore line. I looked up and saw him and all of a sudden a lifeguard runs right past me toward Randy. So I said to the kids "Is that lifeguard going to save daddy?....Yeah, I think he is going to save daddy!" So, seeing as I really couldn't do anything other than sit there and watch, I pulled out the camera, took a photo and then took a video of "the big save." Here is the photo I took. If you click on it, you can see the lifeguard on the left and a small spot that is Randy on the right.
According to Randy, he was swimming along trying to get to some better waves and he was swimming but wasn't actually going anywhere. He started swimming harder toward the shore when the lifeguard saw him and swam out to help him, but by the time he got there, Randy had already swam out of the rip-tide. So the lifeguard told Randy that there was a rip tide right there and that it would be there for the next couple of days. So, the video is anticlimactic, but here it is.

Glad it was anticlimactic.

Looks like a fun trip! I must say Randy is so lucky that lifeguard was doing his job because I had a lady in my ward that was not so lucky, she lost her husband to a rip tide while on vacation. Scary huh?
