Here We Go Again

Jacob has been having a rough few days. His allergies have been acting up and this causes his asthma to flair up as well. We did the normal things, including breathing treatments and allergy medicine. We even added cough medicine into the mix so he could sleep better at night. He had a fever on Saturday and Sunday so we added Tylenol and Motrin into the mix. Yesterday, however Jacob claimed that his legs hurt so bad he couldn't walk. He literally crawled around the house all day. This worried us, so when Randy got home from work he took Jakey to the pediatrician. The doc wasn't too concerned about his legs and chalked it up to either aches from the fever and poor breathing or growing pains. But, we did find out that Jakey has bronchitis too! Poor thing! The doc was very concerned about the asthma and bronchitis. Jake is now on steroids and antibiotics along with everything else. We also got a new inhaler for him to use when we aren't home to use the machine.

I hate seeing him like he is in the picture. But what you don't see is him smiling and humming (he never stops humming or singing). He isn't one to sweat the small stuff. What a sweet sweet boy! I hope he feels better really soon.

Smiling video

I grabbed the camera today when I saw Alyssa smiling, but it was on video mode instead of picture mode, so I got a cute video of our baby girl smiling.

Somebody's got to say it

Dear Alyssa,
I absolutely love you! You are a sweetheart. I can't get enough of your smiles, your smell and your teeny tiny fingers and toes. You are such a blessing. You are so sweet and I think I honestly kiss your little chubby cheeks a million times a day.

That being said, I'm totally going to make fun of you now. Tee he he. You absolutely have the worst hairline of all my kiddos! Lily had a big tuft on the top of her head, Tyler was a little toe head and Jacob had a light brown fuzz all over. You, on the other hand, have next to nothing on the front and top
But you also has a TON of hair in the back. This is the view of you from the top. Yes, I am giggling a little bit. See how long it is starting right at the back of the head? I could seriously braid it with no trouble at all.

This has to be my favorite picture though. I can't stop laughing at my "little old man". I should have taken a photo without the headband. But who doesn't love a baby who is all "business in the front, party in the back?" My only hope is that these bad hair days don't last too long.
Maybe you are just a "hat baby" I rarely put hats on my other kids, but your head is just begging to be covered up.

Oh, I'm sorry did I hurt your feelings?OK, that's better. I love you my goofy girl. :)
Love you always no matter what,
-Mommy

3 weeks

This little bug is 3 weeks old today. She has started smiling at us already. I was lucky enough to catch the smiles with my phone. What a cutie. I love her dimples so much!

The nice thing is, if you miss it, she will point it out for you!

Happy Birthday Lily

That's right, we celebrated another birthday at our house yesterday. Lily turned 3! (If we ever have another baby, I hope we plan to have it far away from these three birthdays.) I can't believe she is already three years old! Time goes by so fast sometimes. I am still in new baby mode, so the celebrations were less than amazing. But I did manage to make some "all pink" cupcakes. With Lily's help we made strawberry cupcakes with pink butter-cream frosting topped with pink sprinkles and princess tiaras. Lily loved how they looked, but for some reason still won't eat them. Weird.

Lily helping me put on sprinkles and tiaras.
can you tell how special she feels?

My brother Ben had a basketball game last night at Weber state in the CIT tournament, so we headed to my mom's where we had a pizza dinner, opened presents and had cupcakes. My sister Michelle and her kids were there as well as my sister Amberly and her family. Of course my mom put on a great dinner and we had lots of fun. It was a rather short celebration because everyone (except Lily and I) were heading to the basketball game at 5:30 PM.

She also got a doll house
She absolutely loved the Dora watch my sister Michelle gave her.

My mom gave her a play-doh set that she thinks is pretty cool.
All dressed up in her dress up finest.Cousin Savannah is also celebrating her birthday on Thursday. She had fun helping Lily play dress up.
Not pictured is the major tantrum Lily threw after everyone left. I guess with all the celebrating and not having a nap yesterday caught up to her. She also hasn't been the biggest fan of me since the baby was born. That's the way it goes sometimes. I had a rough time getting her home and into bed. I guess the terrible threes started right on schedule? I hope as far as tantrums go, we are on a downward slide.
All and all, it was still a fun day and we are so glad Lily is a part of our family. My favorite things about her: she sings and "dances" (spins in circles) all the time. She is so very girly. She absolutely loves her big brothers and can't wait till they get home from school. She is learning to love her sister. She calls my phone my "i-cell." She is beautiful. She loves going to nursery and asks everyday if it is "nursery day." She is a wonderful blessing to have in our family.
Happy birthday Lily Bean! We love you!

Favorite video

My kids can't get enough of this video I took at the hospital before we brought Alyssa home. They think it is hilarious, so I thought I would share.

Hypnobirth video

My lovely free windows media maker is not cooperating with me,
so I used smilebox to create my video for the blog.
Here is the video of my 3rd Hypnobirth experience.
Oh and yes I look absolutely stunning in my hospital gowns
at 41 weeks. Yikes!

Happy Birthday Jacob!

Our wonderful Jacob turned 5 years old just 9 days after Alyssa was born. I have to say that his birthday came really fast! He came home from church last week with a treat and a toy and said that they sang "Happy Birthday" to him in primary. I was like "Is it your birthday this week?" Sheesh! That's how good of a mother I am. Anyhow, we did have a quiet little celebration with presents, cake and ice-cream, grandparents, an aunt, a cousin and some friends. The cake was NOT fancy at all. I didn't have the energy to do it the way he wanted (with either general grievous from Star Wars or Darth Vader) I just stuck some Star wars toys on top. Luckily it tasted really yummy though.

We gave him a card telling him he could go pick out a bike because we hadn't found one yet. I will post pictures of him when he gets it home to try it out.
Happy birthday to our awesome five year old! Jacob is such a wonderful part of our family. He is my snugly, cuddly boy. He walks around the house, or anywhere for that matter, singing or humming all the time. He loves playing PBS kids on the computer, playing x-box with his brother and I catch him building (mostly weapons) with his blocks all the time. I love this boy so much!
