Embarrassing

Today is early out Wednesday at school. Unfortunately Lily's nap time coincides with this early pickup time from school. I literally paced back and forth in the front room wondering if I should a) leave her in her crib and just run 5 min to the school and pick up Ty and his friend. b) wake her and take her with me for just 5 MIN! or c) go across the street and ask my neighbor (who I really don't know well, but I think I trust her at my home for 10 min) to watch her while I run to the school. I finally gave in and ran across the street and asked her. She had no problem with this and came right over. I am a little apprehensive at this point because I have never had her over to my house and it isn't as presentable as I would like it to be, but nonetheless, I am in a pickle, so that is understandable right? Anyway, I put Jake in the car and we go and pick up Tyler. We come home, I say thanks to Camille and she leaves. Tyler enters the house right after Camille leaves and says "OH! what is that SMELL?!! and plugs his nose. I myself don't smell anything, but I can feel my face start to turn red because I now know I had my neighbor over to my house for the first time not only to a messy home, but apparently smelly home as well. SO embarrassing.

At least your house doesn't smell all the time.

So, do you know what caused the smell yet?

Nope, I never smelled anything. I took out the garbage, did the dishes, cleaned everything. Ty doesn't smell anything anymore so I guess it's gone

bad smells in the home are the worst especially when you don't know where they are coming from. Ha! I am sure your neighbor was just thankful to get out of there. :)

Hey maybe it wasn't your house!

Our noses are amazing and they block out smells they smell frequently, so it is hard to say. When I leave for an extended time I come home and take a good wiff and hopefully the house smells okay. Good luck, it may not have been you, or if it was I'm sure you took care of it and may never know.

I have an emergency supply of Febreez for when someone is going to come by unexpectedly...three (almost 4) boys means lots of bad smells!
