I was bored the other night, so I decided to draw a picture of my sweet Tyler. The next day, Tyler saw it, and being the judge that he is, he claimed that it "didn't look like him and it also made him look fat." So I thought you could be the judge. 1. Does it look even a little bit like Ty? 2. is it wall worthy? 3. should I just keep practicing? let me know what you think. I can handle a good critique, but be nice about it.

It looks like him and I do not think it makes him look fat. But what kind of comment is that from a four year old? Keep painting, I am looking forward to when you have us for Christmas.
What is wrong with you, next time try taking a nap! Ya Heath, I'd say that looks like him. You weren't one of those sidewalk artists at the Gateway were you? Amazing! But seriously, I can't believe you're friends with me, if I showed you my sesame street coloring book you might change your mind. :)
Will and I think it looks like him. I'm jealous that you got all the artistic talent for the both of us. Not fair! It looks great!
I think it looks like Ty mostly--it has his essence, that's for sure. I feel like if you cover half of his face, each half looks like him more than the two halves together do (am I insane?...don't answer that). but I think it's so cool that you can draw, it's wall worthy for sure.
Lisa,
What on earth do you think I will give you when I have you for Christmas?
Michelle B,
I don't choose my friends by their talents, but if I did, you would still be on the list.
Michelle W,
I saw your watercolor painting on the ship, so don't give me the life's not fair speach. you are better than you think.
Amber,
You are totally right. maybe his face is too wide or something. both halves of his face look more like him than it does together. how funny! Wonder why that is.....
Is he balding?
I'd put it up even though I think he is much better looking. Besides who am I to say anything - my drawing wouldn't even look human.
Next time you are bored you can draw us one of Tyler and Jacob for our walls.
David,
Actually, he pulls out his hair on both sides of the top of his head. he does it while he sucks his thumb. I can't make him stop. sometimes I find he has stolen my tweesers and is pulling away. So, in answer to your question, yes, he sort of is balding.
oh, and also, the photo of the picture doesn't really show the lighter hair in the front, just the darker hair drawn on top.
Heather...these posts are pretty intense. I've been trying to follow the one half vs. the other. I think it looks like TY...but older. Then again I did drop off the face of the earth and who knows...he probably looks older now. And, seeing how I could never draw something even remotely close to that, I'll have to pass on the judging. Awesome picture and I have to agree with your sister...take a NAP. Or, improve your talents and make the rest of us look bad and lazy!
I think that you are way too talented...if I draw a picture of the kids...it would involve stick figures!
I like it, but then again just that drawing blows my stick figures out of the water!
i like it, though i think it's funny a four year old would think the painting made him fat. he does look older than four in the picture however. i think anything self made should go on the wall!
I have to admit that his earlobes do look quite fat, but I seem to recall YOUR earlobes being extremely fat... maybe it's just a family trait. What medium did you use?
You are one talented girl but I do not think it looks like him, sorry to be in the minority. It may look like him when he is 9 or 10 but not now. It is one good painting
I used pastels this time. I also like oil paints and acrylic paints as well. I really like pastels though because of how they blend. no matter what I use though, I get extremely messy for some reason! I can't keep it off my clothes or my skin.
I have to agree with Eileen. I think it looks like him in the future when he's older. It has his traits, but not exactly like him. Good job though. It's much better than I could do. That's why I hire you to do paintings for me. :)
After seeing the new photo you just posted of Tyler, I can certainly see the inspiration for the painting and see what you captured. I have never really seen Tyler from this vantage nor seen that particular smile. I guess I spend too much time on the floor with him - which is the way I like it.
