Silver linings? where are they?

Everyone is talking about all the good things that will come out of Obama being the new president, but all I can think about is:
  • Our (soon to be) president has no problem letting babies be killed.
  • He has terrorist ties and couldn't qualify to be his own body guard or be in the FBI but he can be President?
  • He wants to take money away from the hardworking Americans and force them to give it to the lazy people. (He's even taking away our choice to give.)
  • He has millions of dollars that are unaccounted for from his election donations. awesome.
  • He is going to Socialize Health care!
  • He has no problem with our schools teaching sexually explicit material to kindergartners.
  • He WILL increase taxes, mark my words!
  • We will have INCREASED welfare. nice
  • He will try to take away our 2nd amendment rights.
  • We will have a WEAKER military. great.

He says he will "Change" America, and unfortunately, I believe him.

p.s. He is not Black! He is going to be our first ARAB President. (I have nothing against Arabs, or blacks, but I'm just sick of everyone saying he is black.)
p.s.s. He smokes. A hobby that makes you die!

The next 4 years will be interesting for sure. Everyone criticized Palin for lack of experience but they sure thought Obama's 4 years in the Senate was enough. Awesome!

Amen. At least Prop 8 passed in California. That is the only reason I have to be happy about the election.

Wow. I know this is your blog, Heather, and you have your right to your own opinion, but I'd have to disagree with you.

I hope we can support and pray for our new president just like we should do for all of our political leaders. I, for one, am grateful that each of us can use our agency and decide who to elect. The people have spoken and hopefully they got it right. Only time will tell.

Tyler, just told me as he saw a picture of Obama;
"I like him!"
Why do you like him?
"I like his skin and his hair"
ok, I guess America can be likened to my four-year-old. He knows nothing except what he thinks he sees.

More Taxes, More Abortion, More Spending, More Debt, Less Choice, Less Freedom, Less Protection. I will pray for him because I want our country to thrive, and I do not want Biden as the President. The people did not get it right.

Agency to decide to do wrong is not what agency is, it is to decide to be more like Christ and then we have true agency.

I will not support policies that I disagree with and I will not support the president and lawmakers that try to enact them. I will pray for him. God can change the heart.
It is interesting that the first "black" president will make slaves of the poor and middle class. Enslaving them to Government handouts.

Not to be too controversial (nor too preachy), but I thought I'd mention two things:

Article of Faith #12
2 Nephi 2

I've never said that anyone who voted for McCain is wrong, but I won't tolerate when people imply that my use of agency is not valid simply because I choose differently than they do. NO ONE can know who the best president will be, unless that person first claims to know the future.

Again, I hope and pray for our future AND for our future president.

D&C 134:1 and 98:4-10

I agree with you completely, Spaz. Well said. :)

Becki,
What can I say. We both knew we have very different opinions on this subject. We are, however, both equally grateful that we have our rights to stand up for what we believe.

D&C 98:9 pretty much sums up this election. That is all I have to say.

My take on any politician? Liars and cheats all of them. Sad, I know. But when you believe that they are all that corrupt, how can you think that any choice is a good choice?

Oh and one last thing. His dad is from Kenya and his mom is from Wichita. Where does the Arab part come in?

He is half black and half white . . . I don't get where you are getting the Arab thing from??

Heather said...

Shanna,
he's not black. Do you know he has a tiny bit of African-American blood? He doesn't have any African -- He's Arab. You know, he's from Africa. He's from Arab parts of Africa. He's not -- his father was Arab-- he's not African-American.
His father's side is Arabic and his father was classified as an Arab-American. Obama had a White mother, which makes him half white American. His great great great Grandmother was from Africa and was the only one to contribute black blood to his veins. He is only 1/16 black. Which means technically he can't be classified as African American. He can never be the first African-American President, b/c he isn't Black.

Heather,
I've done some research and I can see where you are getting your information, but there is just as much information that goes against it. I think this is one of the problems with the internet and the amount of information we can access, true or false. How can we really tell what the truth is?
